Richard Porter hypocritically calls for unity
Former RNC Committeeman calls grass roots icon Matt Gaetz an "a** hole" while demanding unity
Friday September 27th, Richard Porter declared on social media that
“DEMOCRATS ARE THE PROBLEM IN ILLINOIS NOT REPUBLICANS (.) SO STOP PISSING ON REPUBLICANS.”
Despite working in politics since the George H Bush administration, Richard Porter’s most notable moment in politics came when he called Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz an “a** hole” during a CNN interview.
The embarrassing incident trended on social media and was mocked by late night tv hosts.
Democrats across the nation savored the moment, and pop culture publication TMZ referred to Porter as “an older gentleman”.
In 2022, Richard Porter was a key advocate of the Richard Irvin for Governor Campaign.
The Irvin campaign spent millions of dollars smearing conservative Jesse Sullivan and Republican Senator Darren Bailey as “Secret Agents of the Never Trump Agenda”.
In 2018 American Nazi Arthur Jones told politico that he “snookered them (the Illinois GOP)” into running for congress. Only after it was too late did Richard Porter disavow Arthur Jones.
Richard Porter may be focused on winning, but Porter’s term ended in Illinois having the least Republican representation in a century. Richard Porter has correctly stated that he has donated “hundred of thousands to millions” to the Republicans. And those donations have seemed to come with a free pass to criticize them.

First, Porter didn't call Gaetz an asshole during a CNN interview. Gaetz walked up to Kevin McCarthy and disrupted his interview with CNN, shouting insults. As Gaetz walked away, Porter walked up to him, away from visible TV cameras and asked him to stop being an asshole. The exchange was captured by an onlookers with cell phone cameras.
Linda Tripp, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky would disagree that Porter's confrontation with Gaetz was "most notable."
