“The Unshackling of African-American Voters From White Liberals Act”
Now is the time for President-Elect Donald Trump to use the bully pit at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave to Study Reparations and liberate American history for African Americans. By LeAlan Jones
January 1st, 1863 is when Illinois Republican President Abraham Lincoln signed the “Emancipation Proclamation” that ended slavery. November 20th, 1989 is when Michigan Democrat Congressman John Conyers filed “H.R 3745: Commission to Study Reparations Proposal For African-Americans Act.”
President-Elect Donald Trump, the MAGA-Republican party, and the 118th Congress have a tremendous opportunity to address the racial discussion that has impeded the authenticity of the nation's history by finally engaging in the framework for studying Reparations from Slavery in 2025 by passing “The Unshackling of African American Voters From White Liberals Act,” which is an updated version of Congressman Conyers's 1989 Bill.
President-Elect Trump would be walking on political fire that was too hot for America's first bi-racial president, Barack Obama. With the Executive Order of President-Elect Trump or Speaker of the House, Representative Mike Johnson, bringing it before a vote in the House of Representatives. 2025 is the year Americans can look at their past legitimate fascist inconveniences that must be reconciled.
President-elect Trump has no desire for this country to exist within the modern political disingenuous status quo. The political leadership of the nation's current affairs is diverse, open-minded, and can engage in complex matters such as Reparations for slavery with compassion and candor.

White liberals have benefited tremendously from avoiding the study of Reparations. This is why MAGA-Republicans should enthusiastically embrace this legislation. President-Elect Trump's championing of the study of Reparations would connect him with President Abraham Lincoln as the two most significant presidents, in evolving the Nation's historical and modern profile of being a country principled on individual enduring liberties and civil rights.
Had Reparations been a cause white liberals authentically championed, it would present the sunset of a formidable political alliance between white liberals and elitist African-American Democrats who benefit politically from marginalizing their most reliable base of voters. This alliance needs to be imploded for future generations of Americans to live in a greater truth beyond weaponized race hustling and identity politics.

Modern-day liberal politics was never meant for African Americans to have economic equality or political independence from white liberals. This is why 80% of them voted in the previous election cycle for the Democratic Party. And can easily reset to the mid-90s in the next election cycle. For a party that will do nothing to improve their living standards.
Under the Clinton, Obama, and Biden Administrations, African Americans supported personalities, not an agenda.

Had the most recent Democratic nominee for president of the United States and former California, United States Senator Kamala Harris been able to articulate this issue. She would likely have received more than 95% of the African-American vote and won. However, she didn't have to because African-American entertainers and athletes who received millions of dollars to generically endorse the Harris-Walz ticket were a better investment than real public policy. A thorough Reparations study would provide context to how a conundrum like this is a consistent challenge for African-American voters who desire more.
The average African American voter heard no agenda that articulated the chronic issues that have impacted their communities for generations this past election cycle. Nor will they if President Trump and his MAGA-Republican followers neglect to utilize their current political and social momentum to put some real public policy skin in the game.
The legs will be knocked out from under the tricky white liberal and elitist African Americans in the Democratic Party before they recover from their 2024 defeats. If MAGA-Republicans are serious about expanding their populist base.
The 2026 midterm elections could further erode a significant margin of African American voters in big-blue swing states from Democrats. The political optics of “The Unshackling of African American Voters From White Liberals Act,” if enacted, will turn the little blue spots on the electoral map red. MAGA Republicans were 250k voters away from flipping reliable Democratic-blue Illinois red. Democratic Senator Dick Durbin is also retiring ,and his seat could be replaced with a Reparations study Republican.
Those 250k voters that should be flipped are African-Americans in Cook County and the city of Chicago. Where current African-American Mayor Brandon Johnson is polling at 14%, with a billion-dollar budget deficit, and white liberal billionaire Governor JB Pritzker has a projected $3.4 billion state budget deficit in 2025.
Both are Democrats who will have substantially less political capital when they seek tight re-elections in 2026 from African American Voters, who will see the most cuts in jobs and Government programs to balance the budgets. The Trump administration studying Reparations could supplant the blue-sapphire Illinois represents for liberal Democrats into a resilient red-ruby in the Midwest.
California has a Reparations Task Force that produced a legislative package of 14 Bills related to standing social challenges specific to African Americans who are descendants of slaves. Included was legislation to study unconstitutional imminent domain practices related to properties unjustly seized by local governments in California in the early 1900s from African-American property owners.

This property would be rightfully restored to the heirs of the legal owners who were segregated against by the “free market.” After Governor Gavin Newsome signed AB 3089 into law, which apologized for California's role in slavery, he vetoed SB 1950, which would be sanctioned by implementing the findings of the Reparations Task Force.
Essentially, African Americans who are seeking Reparations are being denied by their duplicitous white liberal political allies so they can be reliable supplicants casting votes for liberal Democrats, who consistently undermine them at being politically independent.
Consider Israelis, who have been subsidized by the United States government since Israel became a state in 1948 and received hundreds of billions in American taxpayer money. Arab states such as Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, and Iraq who have been paid hundreds of billions to ensure their security. The failed 20 years of nation-building in Afghanistan was a 2.3 trillion dollar waste after the Central Intelligence Agency built up the Afghan resistance to fight the Soviet Union in the 1980s.
Add in the “Marshall Plan,” which rebuilt Western Europe after World War II, and America has an established precedent for failing and financing non-Americans with conviction to promote freedom. If it's truly about America First and not allies. The study of Reparations in America for African American descendants of slaves is past due.
